About the District
West 39th Street, Kansas City, Missouri, is a popular modern but urban historic destination within the KC metro. It is one of the few corridors in the City with predominantly small local businesses, found precisely along the western state line divide of Missouri and Kansas in central Kansas City. The region is upheld by the 39th Street Community Improvement District (CID) and bolsters support to approximately 100 of the best local shops, boutiques, restaurants, and a wide variety of services.

Each region is unique and that’s what exploring and finding comfortable destinations is all about! The 39th Street Community Improvement District was established to facilitate economic vitality within the CID’s boundaries, focus on maintenance and infrastructure needs for an imbedded locally grown corridor of the early 1900’s between neighborhoods and states, tied to the City metro and bordered by an adjacent university & hospital campus. The District often holds community activities such as 3rd Friday on West 39th and other small scale community tourism events.
