On the 3rd Friday of the month, the West 39th Street Community Improvement District hosts community activities and a family friendly atmosphere to promote local establishments (weather permitting). Local businesses participate with extended hours, boutique sales, celebrations, drink specials, live music and other unique event activities throughout the season. Posted at 8:25 AM, Feb 27, 2022 KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Sporting KC is back and fans are ready to get soccer season started. To do that, the organization is hosting a block party in the West 39th Street District.
The 39th Street Community Improvement District partnered with local soccer team Sporting KC for their season kickoff of 2022. Join us in the West 39th Street District on Feb. 27, starting at 11 a.m. ⚽️ #ATLvSKC Watch Party 🍻 Drink Specials 🎶 Live Music 913 🤝 816 Cheer on our home-town team as they take on Atlanta United.
What began as a small Trick-or-Treat activity put together by the adults became a growing, popular event for family-friendly trick-or-treat Halloween activities on 39th Street. Since 2014, the West 39th Street CID has hosted a central corridor trick-or-treat event each year. All enjoy the creative costumes with their kids and having a safe location to walk place to place. The CID typically schedules the event as an early evening outing prior to the calendar date of Halloween.
The 39th Street Community Improvement District has hosted an annual season event every year to encourage the holiday spirit! December activities have included community caroling, winter scene photos, and a visit from Santa to West 39th. We enjoy the holiday festivities, with Christmas lights and for shopping unique gifts at the boutique shops & winter season local dining.

This activity focuses on native species flowers, trees and landscaping — and the water conservation benefits of keeping stormdrains clear of debris. Hosted by the West 39th Street CID. Volunteer event dates June 20 - 22nd 2016.
